Benefit Car Show packs 'em in...

The benefit car show held today in Butler pulled in a big crowd both in those showing and those who came to see their rides as well. Sponsored by the Butler Detail Shop and the Douty family, the show was held as a benefit fundraiser for baby Lawson Nieder, infant son of Brandon and Carli Neider who was born at 27 weeks. Baby Lawson is at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City and will not be released until May 15th.

Those at the show were treated to live music from the Breakaway Band, food from the Black Angus Restaurant plus lots of interesting motorcycles, cars, trucks, military vehicles, tractors and more. All money raised today will go directly to the Nieder family to offset mounting hospital bills.

A total of the amount raised will be published later.

Bobcats fight to the end...

While the Bobcats poured it on this afternoon, their efforts resulted in a painful loss in the State Championship game. Scott County Central won 79 - 72 in Columbia- their 4th championship win.

In the final seconds the Bobcats did manage a shot from three point land but it was just not enough to even it up. Multiple free throw opportunities for Scott County earned just enough points to keep the advantage.

We salute the Drexel Bobcats on their hard work getting to the state championship!
