Fake bills circulating around Butler

From the desk of Police Chief, Jerry Boyd

The Butler Police Department released a statement this morning that counterfeit one dollar bills are being used in the Butler area. So far, the fake bills have been found at two locations and the public is urged to be on the lookout for more.

The counterfeit bills are printed on plain paper and the color is more blue-green than the actual Treasury bills. Counterfeit marking pens will make the paper brown and water will make the color bleed out.

If anyone comes in contact with the these bills contact the Butler Police Department immediately at 660-679-6131.
