About the weather...

Yes, there is a round of thunderstorms heading in our direction right now.....but not of the intensity of the storms that are to hit Oklahoma and west central Kansas tomorrow. As temps actually go up overnight, storm activity is expected to be quite severe to the west of us. Even though Bates County is on the edge of the severe area, we quite possibly could see some heavy storms especially late into tomorrow night.

To subscribe to police and weather alerts delivered by text message log on to www.nixle.com and sign up for the free service. We also recommend that if have a weather radio, make sure it is in working order.

Currently Bates County is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 p.m.

Boil order cancelled

The boil order for PWSD #6 customers has been lifted. The original boil order, posted a couple of days ago affected those in the Johnstown area only.
