Date change for mass distribution this month

Due to the Memorial Day Holiday we have changed the date for Mass Distribution at the Butler Community Food Pantry to Saturday May 19. We will return to the normal rotation in June.

Warning siren test tomorrow in Butler

The City of Butler Emergency Management Agency will conduct the monthly test of outdoor warning sirens tomorrow, May 2, at 10:00 A.M.

In the event of severe weather, the test will be postponed.

Car Show and Mini NASCAR races coming in June

Bear Backers mini NASCAR races
There will be a car show show this June in combination with Butler Bear Backers Mini NASCAR Race. Both will be held on the same day at the same place….on Saturday June 23rd at the Wilson Tire parking lot (old Walmart location in Butler).

There will be a car bash, a race simulator, BBQ, concessions, door prizes, and admission is free.

Mini NASCAR race entry fees are set at $500.00. Contact any Mini Nascar Race members or email butlerbearbackers@yahoo.com for more details.

BHS Girls Results from Van Horn Conference meet

Last night we had our conference track meet at Van Horn high school. We had lots of kids who set P.R.s (personal records) for themselves and helped the team earn valuable points. The results are as follows:

Conference Champions:

Kiersten Morris: 100M Hurdles- 17.2

4x100M Relay: Maggie Massy, Kayla Morris, Kassidy Hannah, Kiersten Morris-53.7 (new meet record)

4x400M Relay: Kassidy Hannah, Kayla Morris, Brytani Musick, Kiersten Morris-4:16.2 (new PR)

Top 8 place finishes (point earners)

Ashleigh Floyd: 2nd place 100M Hurdles (PR); 4th place 300M Hurdles (PR)

Kayla Morris: 2nd place 100M Dash (PR)

Austin Shatto - 4th place- Discus Throw, 7th place- Shot Put

Jonathan Jons- 2nd place- High Jump, 4th place- 300 meter hurdles, 3rd place- 110 meter Hurdles

Alex Clover- 6th place- 200 meter dash, 6th place- long jump, 3rd place- triple jump

Corbin Duffield- 2nd place- Long jump

Trey Mareth- 2nd place- Triple jump

4x800 meter relay- 6th place- Tayje VanVoorst, Mauricio Perez, Jessie Donovan, Jared Best
