Mulberry Creek/52 highway bridge closure set

We recently posted that the west 52 highway bridge at Miami Creek will be closed for replacement May 21st through August 9th of this year and now another bridge on 52 highway will be closed at the same time.

The bridge on 52 highway at Mulberry Creek east of Amoret is also scheduled for replacement and there had been concern about how long travel between Butler and Amoret would be hampered due to construction at both sites.

We have learned that MoDOT put it to a 'vote' to those living in townships along 52 highway as to whether or not they would prefer that both bridges be closed at the same time. Apparently, the overwhelming answer was yes.

Bates County Live will provide updates as construction progresses over the Summer.
