Bears do well in Sectional golf tournament

Congratulations goes out to three members of your Butler Bear Golf Team who participated in the Missouri Sectional 4 Golf Tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri on Wednesday. Of the 51 golfers who participated, Joe Strauch placed 11th with a low score of 82, which qualifies him for State. Brett Miller placed 15th with a low score of 85, which qualifies him for State also. Brian Todd placed 43rd with a score of 100, but he unfortunately did not qualify. We should be very proud of each one of them.

The State Tournament will take place on May 14-15th in Springfield, Mo, wish them luck!

-our thanks to Scott Myers

Arthur Lee Coberly, 84 of Butler, died May 2, 2012 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. Arthur was born November 28, 1927 in Oklahoma, son of Tom Aney and Celara (Fox) Coberly. Arthur worked in many various occupations and trades throughout his life. In recent years, he especially enjoyed dealing and playing poker on Friday afternoons at Medicalodge of Butler, where he was a resident. For Arthur, nothing got in the way of Friday afternoon poker.
