Improvements continue for Amsterdam fire department

This concrete pad marks the new training room and
office
In the not too distant past, the Amsterdam Fire Department managed to acquire a newer model pumper, brush truck and now have the biggest water tanker in the area, as improvements for the department continue.

Now attention is being turned to upgrade the building it's all housed in- which includes four new garage type doors and additional space for a training/meeting room.

According to acting Fire Chief Garry Perrymann, the work is expected to be completed in the near future.
The installation of four doors on the west side of the building will greatly ease moving trucks in and out of
the Amsterdam fire station. Currently, trucks enter and exit via the single door (on end of the building) which
requires moving certain vehicles to gain access to others.
