Donkey races this Saturday in Montrose...

The Media Ballyhoo For DairyLand’s  "Celebrity" Donkey Races will be a crazy racing event … wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus. The races will be held at the Montrose Ball Field Saturday, July 14th at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Montrose Activity Club.

Admission will be $8.00 dollars in advance or $10.00 at the gate, children under 5 will be admitted free. Contact amber Palmer at 660-492-0523 for advance tickets.

2012 Health Fair a success!


19 winners in Rich Hill coupon book drawing

19 lucky people won gifts on Saturday from the Rich Hill coupon book drawing. Coupon books were for sale as a fund raising event, hosted by the Community Liaison Council of Rich Hill. Books were sold prior to the July 7th drawing with the opportunity to win gift certificates, gift baskets and cash. The dollars spent on the purchase of the books will benefit the Rich Hill Youth Development Center, a facility that houses troubled teens.

You may continue to purchase contest/coupon books from Rose Thomas or any Rich Hill Community Liaison Council member for just $10.00. Books will be for sale through November of this year. With your purchase, you will again be eligible to win gifts and prizes in the November drawing. The second drawing to be held in conjunction with the Rich Hill Country Christmas that will be held in November.

Obituary - Margaret Booher

Funeral services for Margaret Booher will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Rev. Carl Covey officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Virginia Cemetery, Virginia, Missouri.

Margaret Louise Booher, age 80 of Amsterdam, Missouri died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler, Missouri. She was born February 27, 1932 to Merle and Lena Rigby Showalter Glessner in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Margaret is survived by three sons, Robin Booher of Adrian, Missouri, Joie Booher and wife Della of Peculiar, Missouri and Jerry of Portland, Indiana; two sisters, Mary Stevenson of Portland, Indiana and Gloria Wickus and husband Ron of Bluffton, Indiana; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristina, Arizona and Aaron; and two great-grandchildren, Tory and Alexa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Ricky; and infant daughter, Tommy Sue; and a sister, Elizabeth Jordan.
