Town Square Hardware closing after 22 years...

To alleviate any confusion, Town Square Hardware store (not Corner Hardware) is closing soon and everything must go!

First, we'd like to congratulate Harry and Carol for their 22 years of dedication at Town Square Hardware store on the south side of the Butler square. They would like to encourage you to keep shopping locally and you're invited to stop by and take advantage of discounts, as everything must go.

Admission Tickets Now Available for the August Missouri State Fair

(SEDALIA, Mo.) – Daily adult gate admission tickets to the Missouri State Fair may be purchased in advance at select retail stores across the state, now through Aug. 8. State Fair Director Mark Wolfe said the $2 savings per ticket, and several other special promotions, helps to make the annual agricultural showcase an affordable family destination.

The $6 tickets are available at all Missouri Break Time convenience stores, Orscheln Farm and Home and Casey’s General Store locations. A list of the locations is available online at www.mostatefair.com. The discounted admission tickets are also available through Aug. 8 at the State Fair Box Office in Sedalia; hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Another great discount is the unlimited ride carnival wristband ticket for $18.95, offered exclusively at Walgreens through Aug. 8. Walgreens and Break Time convenience stores are also selling a $27 unlimited daily deal ticket through Aug. 18, which includes a single-day adult gate admission and a single-day unlimited carnival ride wristband.

“The $27 ticket offers a savings of $6,” Wolfe said. “An unlimited carnival ride wristband purchased on the Midway during the State Fair is $25 and regular adult gate admission is $8.”

There are several additional ways to save money during the 11-day showcase:
·Thursday, Aug. 9: $2 gate admission for ages 6 and older; and $2 vendor and concession specials;
·Saturday, Aug. 11: $1 off adult gate admission with a Pepsi coupon; details are on Diet Pepsi can panels;
·Sunday, Aug. 12: Show-Me Salutes-Military Appreciation Day: free gate admission for active military, veterans and delayed entry recruits with appropriate I.D, and $1 gate admission for their immediate family members, which includes their spouse and dependent children; and military receive a $5 off carnival ride wristband (regular $25) at Midway ticket booths with coupon available at admission gate;
·Monday, Aug. 13: $1 off adult gate admission and $5 off carnival ride wristband (regular $25) with coupon available at county Farm Bureau offices;
·Tuesday, Aug. 14: $1 off gate admission with a canned food donation, for up to half off regular admission
·Wednesday, Aug. 15: $2 off adult gate admission with each Sedalia Democrat newspaper front page Fair banner;
·Thursday, Aug. 16: $4 gate admission for ages 13 and over; $1 gate admission ages 6-12; and free gate admission for Missouri firefighters, EMTS and paramedics, with identification;
·Friday, Aug. 17: $5 off unlimited carnival ride wristband (regular $25) with coupon from Rural Missouri magazine;
·Saturday, Aug. 18: $1 off adult gate admission with coupon available at County Extension Offices;
·Sunday, Aug. 19: $4 gate admission for ages 13 and older; $1 gate admission ages 6-12; and free gate admission for municipal, county and state law enforcement with identification, and $1 gate admission for their immediate family members, which includes their spouse and dependent children;
·Sunday Aug. 12 through Wednesday Aug. 15: $5 adult gate admission after 5 p.m.
·Aug. 9, 10, 13-17:$5 off carnival ride wristband (regular $25) coupons available at County Extension Offices or from Diet Pepsi can panel promotion;
·Monday, Aug. 13 through Thursday, Aug 16: purchase an adult gate admission ticket at the Lunch Bunch Booth at Centennial Gate entrance between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and then return the ticket by 2 p.m. for a full refund.

Donkey races this Saturday in Montrose...

The Media Ballyhoo For DairyLand’s  "Celebrity" Donkey Races will be a crazy racing event … wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus. The races will be held at the Montrose Ball Field Saturday, July 14th at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Montrose Activity Club.

Admission will be $8.00 dollars in advance or $10.00 at the gate, children under 5 will be admitted free. Contact amber Palmer at 660-492-0523 for advance tickets.
