Butler square to be alive with Ladies Night Out this Monday...
The Butler square stores and other local businesses will be open as ladies shop for sales and bargains during the annual Ladies Night Out event on Nov. 19th until 9 p.m.

Copper theft possible in the area...
Copper Thefts from Utility Poles- thieves could move into Bates County
Cass County - Investigators with the Cass County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in identifying anyone stealing copper in the southeastern portion of the county. Since September the Sheriff's Office has received reports concerning theft of copper from utility poles. Investigators and the utility companies believe that the suspect(s) are climbing the poles and stealing the wire. Officials with Osage-Valley Electric Cooperative tell investigators that their company uses "bucket trucks" when conducting repairs and work on power lines.
If you see anyone CLIMBING a utility pole, DO NOT APPROACH! Get a description of the climber and any vehicles. Drive to a safe area and call 9-1-1 or dispatch at 816-380-5200 (in Cass County) or 660-679-3232 (in Bates County) with the location of the pole and the description information.

JH Lady Bears sweep Adrian in home opener
The JH Lady Bears swept the floor last night with the Adrian Blackhawks. Both teams soundly defeated Adrian in their home-opener (B-team won 34-10 and A-team won50-29). They continue in home court action this Wednesday. Congratulations Lady Bears.
