Butler City Council News NOV 20, 2012
The City Council news is very sparse, with only one action taken. That was an amendment to the ordinance concerning buildings and building regulations on demolition permits. It says that those permits issued by the building official, shall expire 90 days following the date of issuance, and those persons having an expired permit may apply for a 45-day extension with council approval. Fee for filing an extension shall be ten percent of the original permit fee, but not less than ten dollars.
One other reminder, actually from the Chamber of Commerce concerning the annual Christmas parade...Registration by those in the parade is set for five p.m., with judging immediately afterward, with the parade reaching the Butler square at a little past six p.m. Other action going on at five p.m. will be the crowning of Little Miss Snowflake and Mr. Jack Frost. Also, at 5:15, the pop chorus will perform on the square, and at 5:45, a community church service will be held, also on the square.
In conjunction with all that, we remind you that first prize in the parade will be $100 deducted from the winner's December electric bill...$75 to second prize, and $50 to the third place winner. And there is a $10 reduction on the electric bill for all qualified entries in the annual contest.
And that's the picture on the shortened meeting...we remind that the Butler City Council meets each first and third Tuesdays at seven p.m. at City Hall. The public may attend.
