The Merwin Christian Church live nativity cancelled until Next Sunday

  The Merwin Christian Churches live Nativity scene that was scheduled for Sunday the December 9th was canceled until next Sunday December, 16 from 5pm to 8 pm. This will run in conjunction with the churches Christmas Program. Everyone is welcomed to attend...Refreshments will be served.

Obituary - Daniece Miller


  Funeral services for Daniece Miller will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Scott Cemetery, Amsterdam, Missouri. Contributions to American Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes  Association.

  Daniece Renay Miller, age 47 of Amoret, Missouri died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born September 1, 1965 to William Harold and Verna Marie Stephens Corbin in Butler, Missouri.

  Daniece is survived by her husband, Kevin Miller of Amoret, Missouri; her mother, Verna Marie Stephens of Amoret, Missouri; one sister, Donna White and husband Ed of Amoret, Missouri; two half-sisters, Pauline Gehrett of Lubbock, Texas and Loretta Paris and husband Al of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father; and a half-brother, Bill Corbin

Obituary - Howard Dean Gordon


  Howard Dean Gordon, 64, of Garden City, Mo died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his home. Graveside service 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Strausburg,Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Mo. Visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, Mo.


   Howard was born March 9, 1948 in Kansas City, Mo to Howard Manley and Marjorie Lucille (Butler) Gordon. He was married to Jerri Lynn (Layden).


  Howard is preceded in death by his father and two brothers. His is survived by his wife, Jerri of the home; his mother, Marjorie Gordon of Kansas City, Mo; four children, Matthew Logan, Garden City, Mo, Anitia Hurla and husband, Martin of Paxico, ks, Toni Logan of Tampa, Fl, and Cassie Evans and husband, Paul of Otis, Ore; two brothers, Tim Gordon and wife, Bernice of Kansas City, Mo and Kenny Gordon and wife, Sherry of Kansas City, Mo; one sister, Karen Gordon, Nevada, Mo; and seven grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa, Rachel, Lucy, Emily, Bethany, and Samuel.

Obituary - Dewey Ray Perdue


   Dewey Ray Perdue, 68, of Harrisonville, Mo died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral service 2:00 pm Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Food for Thought Backpack program at the Harrisonville School.


   Dewey was born October 17, 1944 in Madison, Tenn to Vernon Esley and Mary Emma (Merritt) Perdue. On October 26, 1968 he was united in marriage to Beatrice Marie Moles. He worked for Envirostar Waste Services in Grain Valley, Mo as their sales manager. He also owned and operated his own car dealerships . He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the River Oaks Golf Course  in Grandview. He was a Baptist.


  Dewey is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Beatrice of the home; one son, Christopher Allen Perdue of Grain Valley, Mo; three daughters, Lisa Bea Moore of Archie, Mo, Laura Leona Perdue of Shreaveport, La, Beth DeAnne' Perdue-Bell of Kansas City, Mo; three brothers, John L. Sullivan of Old Hickory, Tenn, Ralph Kenneth Perdue of Brush Creek, Tenn and Wayne Perdue of Eagle Rock, Mo; one sister, Barbara Taylor of Harrisonville, Mo; four grandchildren and one great-granchild.
