  The West Central Missouri Community Action Agency would like to thank the People for People Coalition on Christmas for kids toy drive. All 206 Kids that was on the list has been adopted and will receive a gift on Christmas thanks to the community of Butler. Gifts need to be tagged and wrapped by Monday December 17th. Thanks to everyone who reached out and helped the kids in our community.

I-49 THE THE LONG SECTION OF U.S. 71 CONNECTING KANSAS CITY TO JOPLIN IS NOW COMPLETED, AND SIGNS DESIGNATING IT AS I-49 ARE NOW UP.

  ADRIAN PROJECT PROM PLANS ARE UNDERWAY WHICH WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, APRIL 20,2013. THIS EVENT IS AN ALL-NIGHT ACTIVITY FOR STUDENTS TO CELEBRATE PROM NIGHT SAFELY, IN A DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE ENVIRONMENT COMPLETE WITH REFRESHMENTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND PRIZES.


  ALL DONATIONS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND DONATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $75 OR MORE WILL RECEIVE A BUSINESS-CARD SIZE AD ON THE BACK OF THE T-SHIRTS THAT WILL BE HANDED OUT TO STUDENTS THAT NIGHT.

Bill Joe Akers, 75, Raymore, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home. Services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. 

Bates County Industries needs old Christmas lights

  Bates County Industries in Butler is looking for old Christmas lights as well as plastic bottles, milk cartons, aluminum cans and detergent bottles ,News papers and junk mail. Bates County Industries is a full recycling service center all items help to generate funds to keep it running. They employ disabled adults and is a Shelter workshop.

  Bates County Industries is located just north of Butler on business 71 highway take TT highway west to the third building on the North side of the road. The Donation Bins are open 24hrs a day and also when bringing aluminum cans please be sure they are washed out and cleaned.

Reported Structure fire in Amsterdam

  The Butler Fire Department as well as the Amsterdam and Adrian Fire Department is battling a large structure fire right to the west of the Methodist Church in Amsterdam. Little information is available at this time. Please use caution when traveling in this area. Bates Live will release new information when it comes available.
