TRAFFIC STOP-ARCHIE Deputies conducted a traffic stop on north bound I49 and arrested the driver for operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

DOMESTIC-PASSAIC Bates County Deputies responded to a Domestic Disturbance in the RT 2 Butler area. One subject was stabbed in the leg. Two subjects were taken into custody pending charges.
MISCELLANEOUS-BUTLER Deputies took a report of an accidental gunshot wound at Bates County Memorial Hospital.

Obituary - Joanne Williams


Memorial services for Joanne Williams will be announced at a later time, with inurnment to be in the Salem Cemetery, Foster, Missouri.  Cremation under the direction of the Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, Missouri (660) 679-0009. Joanne (Jacobs) Myers Williams, 71 of Amoret, Missouri passed away December 23, 2012 at her home in Amoret.
Joanne was born March 26, 1941 in Foster, Missouri, daughter of John and Maxine Eleanor (Miller) Jacobs.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three children: sons Bruce Myers and Brian Myers of Amoret, Missouri, and daughter Brenda Hall of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren

Obituary - Marsha H. Hawkins

Marsha H. Hawkins, 62, Adrian Missouri, died Saturday December 22, 20012 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Optimist Building in Adrian, Missouri. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Optimist Building in Adrian. Burial will be in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. Contributions maybe be made to the Bryce Eidson Fund or the Hawkins Daycare.

Two people injured in overnight crash

  A early morning crash near Hume send 1 to the hospital. According to the police report a 1994 Chevy driven by 25 year old Shawn Thomas of Hume. Traveled off the road way and through a field and struck a utility pole early Sunday morning. A passenger in the vehical 21 year old Chelsea Robinson of Rich Hill received moderate injuries and was transported by Ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital. Thomas had no injuries and charges are pending. The scene was worked by TPR B.R. DODSON/1324/ ASSISTED BY SGT C.M. GACH/555/

 tHE BATES COUNTY SHERIFF CHAD ANDERSON would like to address the FACEBOOK RUMORS AND FACEBOOK POSTINGS ABOUT BOMB THREATS .. ANDERSON MADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT REGARDING SECURITY AT OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS AND VIABLE THREATS. ANDERSON SAID THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SEEING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS PAtroling AT YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL… THEY ARE THERE FOR PRE-CAUTIONARY MEASURES ONLY. THIS PROCEDURE IS ROUTINE FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS  AND YOU MAY JUST BE NOTICING IT MORE NOW… DUE RECENT SCHOOL VIOLENCE.  THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WORKS HAND IN HAND WITH SCHOOL OFFICIALS , AS THEIR TOP PRIORITY IS THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILDREN.  THERE HAS BEEN NO OFFICIAL TREATS CONFIRMED  AT ANY OF OUR  LOCAL SCHOOLS.

Bobbi Sue Register, I: Felony burglary, II: Felony theft/stealing, found guilty, sentenced to 5 years in MDOC on each count, given SES, placed on probation for 5 years, sentence to run concurrently with other sentences, to pay restitution of $250 and court costs including board bill, to attend and successfully complete any counseling/treatment as directed,  to get substance abuse treatment and aftercare, to be subject to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, Defe. Man injured in Uni-loader accident

  A Local Butler man received minor injures when he was struck in the head by bucket on a bobcat/ uni-loader Thursday afternoon in Butler. The man received a nasty cut on his head and was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital for his injuries.

Obituary - Roxanne Myrtle Helene Boatwright

 Roxanne Myrtle Helene Boatwright, 65, Adrian, Missouri, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian.
