School Bus wreck outside of Adrian
Bates County Sheriff and Missouri State Highway patrol is on route to wreck involving a school bus and a truck North of Adrian on E Highway. Reported as NO injuries although there is 3 children on the bus. Please use caution when traveling in this area. When Bates County Live receives the police report we will share.

Obituary - Harold Eugene Martin Jr.
Harold Eugene Martin Jr. passed away at 1pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Benchmark Health Center of Harrisonville, Missouri. Visitation will be held 10:00am Saturday, January 13, 2013 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel, Mo. Service to follow at 11:00am. Burial at West Union Cemetery, Peculiar, Mo.
Harold was born to Harold Eugene and Dorothy Marie Martin on September 21, 1944. He loved to go fishing in his spare time, as well as spend time gardening. A favorite pastime for Harold was to work in the junkyard in Belton, Mo. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, June Marie Martin.
He is survived by sisters: Ruth Young of Freeman, Mo., Bonnie (Gene) Miller, Drexel, Mo.; brothers: Howard (Suk) Martin, Archie, Mo., John ( Joan) Martin, Trimble, Mo. Harold is also survived by his daughters Angela, Tina and Michelle; 3 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and lots of friends. He will be dearly missed by his family and by all those that were blessed to have known him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, Drexel, Mo. or Grace Hospice of Kansas City, Missouri.

Janice Diehl, age 72 of Butler, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Medicalodge Nursing Center in Butler. She was born June 27, 1940 to Clarence Parker and Iva Laverne Nelson Hartley in Hays, Kansas.
Janice is survived by four sons, Tevan Diehl and wife Susan of Drexel, Missouri, Travis Diehl of Adrian, Missouri, Tony Diehl and wife Tiffany of Overland Park, Kansas and Trent Diehl and wife Kristen of Butler, Missouri; one brother, Jerry Hartley of Gladstone, Missouri; one sister, Judy Burgess and husband John of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Leanna, Tanner, Deitrich and Mason; and one great grandson, Brayden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Diehl in 2010; a daughter, Tracy in 1979; and one brother, Jim Hartley.

Clyde L. Horstman, Jr., 94, Raymore, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, Missouri. No services are scheduled. Mr. Horstman donated his body to science.
Mr. Horstman was born July 20, 1918 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Clyde and Ada Mae (Lyon) Horstman. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He was an appliance salesman.

Nancy was born October 26, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Max and Beverly (Chaffin) Haldiman. She grew up in Raytown and Kansas City, Missouri and was a graduate of Raytown High School. Nancy owned and operated Cass County Cleaners in Harrisonville for 20 years before selling it in 1998. She had lived in Harrisonville for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Denny Haldiman. She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Riley, Harrisonville, Missouri and Lisa Riggs, Nixa, Missouri; three brothers, Kenny Haldiman, Grain Valley, Missouri, David Haldiman, Raymore, Missouri and Greg Haldiman, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one sister, Kathy Haldiman, Peculiar, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Stephany Payne and Dustin Riley, both of Harrisonville, Missouri, Jeremy Willoughby, Joplin, Missouri, Savannah Willoughby and Kylie Willoughby, both of Harrisonville, Missouri and 1 great-granddaughter, Shayanne Payne, Harrisonville, Missouri.
