5k Run for the cure for Brice Eidson

On Saturday March 23, 2013 there will be a 5k walk/jog to benefit the family of Brice Eidson. This will start at the Butler High School flagpole. Car Wreck Southbound I-49

Bates County Sheriffs, Don's Tow, Missouri State Highway Patrol is on scene of a vehicle in to a bridge accident drive shaken but no reports of injuries at this time at mile marker 123 outside of Rich Hill. Please use caution when traveling today. Lots of cars in the ditches this morning

Reported rollover accident North of Passaic



  Adrian Fire/ Rescue along with Bates County EMS,  Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bates County Sheriff is in route to a reported 1 vehicle roll over accident 1 mile North of Passaic  at mile marker 138 on I-49. Please use caution when out traveling the roads are slick. Reported no injury.

Obituary - Wesley Jensen


(Cremation) Memorial services for Wesley Jensen will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler, Missouri (660) 679-0009 with Pastor Dick Pierson officiating. Visitation prior to services, 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Private family inurnment at a later time in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions are suggested to the Butler Public Library. Wesley William Jensen, 83 of Butler, Missouri passed away February 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Wesley was born June 24, 1929 in Bates County, Missouri, son of William and Elsie Caroline Ernestine (Engelhardt) Jensen. Among survivors are Wesley’s sons Eric Jensen and Chris Jenson, and sister, Ruth Marr of Butler, Missouri.

Obituary - Don Cole

Funeral arrangements for Don Cole will be handled by Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill. Services will be at 2 pm Tues. at the Funeral Home; visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Contributions can be made to the RH Fire Department.

Obituary - Betty Adams


(Cremation) Memorial services for Betty Adams will be 3:00 PM Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the home of Betty’s daughter, Sherri Shipley. There will be no visitation. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.
Betty Jean Adams, 83 of Adrian, Missouri passed away February 14, 2013 at her home in Adrian.
Betty was born December 2, 1929 in Grandview, Missouri, daughter of Admiral Dewey and Cora Lee (Stradling) Lee. She was a graduate of Holden, Missouri High School. In her younger years, she loved dancing, music and spending time with friends. She also enjoyed horseback riding. As time went on, she enjoyed sewing, working puzzles, and playing Bingo. She enjoyed animals and had many pets through the years, but her two favorite dogs were Mickie and Little Bit.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and four brothers. She is survived by one sister, Beulah Lee Bingman of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Robert Lee of Topeka, Kansas; son Kenneth Ray Adams of Adrian; daughter Bettie Jo Tadlock of Chincoteague, Virginia; daughter Cora Jane Adams of Adrian; daughter Sherri Shipley of Archie, Missouri; daughter Donna Lynn Parker of Adrian. She also leaves behind 6 granddaughters, 5 grandsons, and 3 great-grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Betty will be missed and always remembered by her loving family and friends.
