There will be a book signing March 15th at the Bates County courthouse, South side Cafe and the Butler Inn.

Butler Girls Scouts needs your old glasses
DON’T THROW YOU OLD GLASSES AWAY…. CHILDREN THAT CAN NOT SEE THE LEAVES ON THE TREES OR THE WORDS IN A BOOK NEED THOSE GLASSES. THE BUTLER GIRL SCOUT BROWNIE TROOP AND THE LIONS CLUB OF BUTLER HAVE BANNED TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE CHILDREN AND ADULTS HAVE GLASSES. SIGHT IS A PRECIOUS THING AND YOUR OLD GLASSES CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE FOR A CHILD OR AN ADULT THAT CAN NOT SEE AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE GLASSES.
THE GIRL SCOUT BROWNIE TROOP OF BUTLER HAS PREPARED DECORATED DROP OFF BOXES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AROUND BUTLER TO COLLECT USED GLASSES.

American Legion meeting
The James P. Arnold Post 46 of the American Legion & Auxiliary will have a meeting on Monday, March 11th at the post home. Potluck supper at 6:30 pm and meetings at 7:30 pm. All members please attend.

5K Walk/Jog for Brice Eidson

The Brice Eidson 5k walk/jog,helps with medical expenses will be held on March 23, 2013. Race Day Registration will be at 8:00 AM with the line up at 8:30 and start time will be at 9am.
The walk/jog will be 3.1 Miles Preregistration is required in order to guarantee a T shirt. That deadline is March 8. However, you can register that day of the event at the Butler High School flag pole. Please park in the south parking lot at the Butler High School.
