Bates County Sheriff is in route to a reported slide off 1 mile South of Adrian at mile marker 138.9, There is a White Toyota Tundra truck in the median no reports of injuries or property damage. The roads are bad please don't travel on them if at all possible. If you must be out travel with caution.

Lady Bears Win Youth Tournament

The Butler Youth Basketball March Madness Tournament has been going on all weekend in Butler among the winners are the 6th Grade Girls ( Plus 3rd Grader Kalee Chandler) They competed in the 5th and 6th grade girls bracket and had a perfect 3-0 record. Congratulations Lady Bears.

Accident West of Rich Hill..

Bates County Sheriff is in route to a vehicle in the ditch West of Rich Hill on A Highway just West of PP Highway. A 70's model Chevrolet Pickup is in the ditch by a creek. Please use caution when traveling in this area. This is off the roadway and not blocking traffic.

Winter Weather Forcast

As we promised, here is your Saturday afternoon update on the winter storm that is already beginning to impact parts of the region. A rain, sleet, and snow mixture will continue to overspread the area through the evening hours. This wintry mixture will finally turn over to snow late tonight, with moderate to occasionally heavy snow taking over after 4am Sunday. This snow will continue through much of Sunday.

A slight southward shift in the track of this impressive March storm has lowered snowfall totals in extreme northern Kansas and Missouri, and shifted heavier totals slightly southward. However, some areas may receive upwards of 6" to 10" of snow by Sunday afternoon. Areas of central Missouri could even see slightly higher amounts. Any further shift in this storm track could lead to modified amounts once again.

PLEASE help us out and make sure to "share" and "like" this image so that we can get the word out about this incoming winter storm. Once precipitation begins, please make sure to report the conditions as they change.

Rollover Accident North of Rich Hill

 Bates County Sheriff and Missouri State Highway Patrol is on scene of a rollover accident just North of Rich Hill in the Northbound Lanes of I-49. There is no reports of injuries with this accident. Please use caution when traveling this evening the roadways are slick.

Several reported off the road on I-49

We are under a winter storm warning until 7pmu tomorrow. We are experiencing a large amount of vehicle wrecks and slide offs on the highways. If you do not need to leave home we encourage you to please stay off the roadways.

CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS RAIN OR
RAIN MIXED WITH SNOW. RAIN IS EXPECTED TO TRANSITION TO ALL SNOW
TONIGHT. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO IMPACT THE ENTIRE FORECAST AREA WITH A
BROAD AREA OF SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 6 TO 9 INCHES SOUTH OF A ST.
JOSEPH TO BETHANY LINE WITH 4 TO 6 INCHES NORTH OF THAT LINE BY
SUNDAY AFTERNOON. MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY WILL
LEAD TO DANGEROUS ROADWAY CONDITIONS AS WELL AS REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRIVING.

LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE SUNDAY NIGHT EAST OF A PRINCETON TO SEDALIA

NEW HORSE SHOW CIRCUIT DEVELOPING IN BATES COUNTY

The Outlaw Horse Show circuit is a brand new, family friendly horse show circuit dedicated to providing a fun, wholesome learning experience for horse enthusiasts in the area.

A group of former youth horse show ladies realized there was no longer a show circuit within the area.. their mission is to provide horse show events that appeal to family members of all ages and performance disciplines including 4-H and FFA members, trail riders, professional trainers and ranchers.

All shows will be held at the Bates County Fairgrounds in Butler at the present time.
