Butler State music results‏

Last Saturday, in Columbia at 8:00 AM, Robert Branson blew the doors open with a grand 4-measure opening. His beautiful, musical rendition of his solo was very inspiring and well played. Although soloists are given 7 minutes to play, the judge let him play completly his 10', 30'' solo. He received a Superior One rating, the best you can get.
At 8:14 Jayce Teeman played a very musical, in-a-romantic style, Alto Sax solo that makes you feel like you could melt. Only a couple of intonation situations and a distracting buzzing piece of plastic from a speaker allowed him to earn aExcellent 2 rating. Both performances were oustanding!
Congratulations my guys.

The choir sang so well too. Aarika Gardner received a Superior, One rating as did the 8-pack of Aarika, Rachel Hurshman, Madison VanGordan, Jordan Loughridge, Christian Lawrence, Dalton Fischer, Bryce Joslin and Bausten Sargent. Jordan Loughridge received an Excellent 2 rating. All musicians received a State Certificate!

We are proud of our little not-so-well known Butler Music Conservatory.

TODAY ONLY MAY DAY SPECIAL AT WHAT TO WEAR!!

NEVADA NURSING HOME FIRE

A fire filled one wing of a Nevada nursing home at midday Tuesday and a woman visitor died from an apparent heart attack in the excitement. Nevada firemen and police officers were called to the Medicalodge about 12:30 p.m. and firefighters say a motor on an air conditioning unit caught fire, filling the wing with smoke. The Medicalodge of Nevada  staff had the residents at the front door of the facility, ready for evacuation, when firemen arrived. The firemen quickly found the problem, put out the fire and cleared the smoky wing allowing the sixty residents to return to their rooms by about 1:00 p.m. Efforts by Vernon County.  Ambulance District personnel and others to save the woman visitor were unsuccessful. She had arrived to visit a family member and her name has not been released, pending  the notification of relatives.
