Wild Weather Change
Old man winter refuses to give in, and today will be the last day of above-normal temperatures we will see for at least a week.
A strong cold front will send temperatures plummeting into the 30s and 40s tonight and Thursday. It still appears that rain may mix with snow across parts of the area Thursday and Thursday night. It is VERY rare to get accumulating snow in May: it has only happened in KC once since 1888! While accumulating snow appears unlikely at this time for Kansas City, areas to the north and west could see some minor accumulations with this system.
While winter has won this round, spring will emerge victorious at some point. (And don't worry, signs do not point to us jumping straight into summer when this bout of cold weather is done).
