Obituary - Hubert Koehn

 Funeral services for Hubert Koehn will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Bethany Mennonite Church in Rich Hill, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Bethany Mennonite Church. Burial in Bethany Mennonite Cemetery, Rich Hill. Contributions to Bethany Mennonite Church Benevolent Fund. Arrangements, Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) Butler, Missouri.

Hubert Koehn, age 64 of Richards, Missouri died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at his home in Richards. He was born October 6, 1948 to Walter and Eva Nightengale Koehn.

Hubert is survived by his wife, Mary Evelyn Koehn of Richards, Missouri; two sons, Matthew “Matt” Koehn and wife Gayla and Sidney “Sid” Koehn and wife Janalee, all of Richards, Missouri; nine brothers, Harland Koehn of Rich Hill, Missouri; Archie Koehn and wife Alice of Rich Hill, Missouri, Ernie Koehn of Butler, Missouri, Frank Koehn and wife Marlene of Rich Hill, Missouri, Marlin Koehn and wife Diann of Macon, Mississippi, Wesley Koehn and wife Edith of Rich Hill, Missouri, Delbert Koehn and wife Rita of Eldon, Missouri, Daniel Koehn and wife Marva of Barnett, Missouri and Milton Koehn and wife Marge of Versailles, Missouri; two sisters, Ella Mae Isaac and husband Jimmy of Butler, Missouri and Beth Koehn of Moundridge, Kansas; and six grandchildren, Ted, Joel, Nathaniel, Dinah, Tasha and Grant. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Curtis Koehn; and infant sister, Marcella.

Bates County is under a winter weather advisory until Friday at 1:00 p.m. We are expected to get slushy accumulations of snow from 1 to 3 inches. Please be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.

May 8th Butler License Office Closed

The Butler License Office will be closed May 8th. there will not be any Driver's License testing on Wednesday May 8th

St v. Drake M. Rogers, Felony possession of controlled substance, marijuana, amended to Misd. Possession of Controlled substance, marijuana, found guilty, given SIS, placed on 2 years unsupervised probation, to pay court costs, to perform 100 hours of community service.

St v. James S Barker, Cts. 1-15: Sodomy—displayed weapon, Cts. 16-18: Deviate Sexual Assault, found guilty on Cts. 1-4:  sodomy, sentenced to 12 years on each count; found guilty on Ct. 16: Deviate Sexual Assault—sentenced to 4 years in MDOC, sentences to run concurrently with other sentences.

Justin M Chase, I: Felony statutory sodomy, found guilty, sentenced to 5 years in MDOC; II: Felony statutory rape, found guilty, sentenced to 5 years in MDOC, III: Felony statutory sodomy -dismissed; IV: Felony statutory statutory rape—dismissed; given SES, placed on probation for 5 years,  to pay court costs, to spend 30 days in Bates County Jail and pay for board bill, Defe. to get counseling/treatment as directed, Defe. to pay restitution, if any, Defe. to get psychological or psychiatric counseling, to get sex offender supervision, Defe. to submit to random drug testing, random home/vehicle searches, Defe. shall not possess or consum any alcoholic beverages or be where sold/served, No contact with the victim in this case and no contact with any female under 18 years of age.
