Weather Update: Rain Returns Saturday
Check out our upcoming chance for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. There IS the potential for severe weather Saturday evening/night. If you have outdoor plans this weekend, we recommend keeping track of this forecast!
BATES COUNTY FAIR DATES AND THEME CHOSEN
The dates of the 2013 Bates County Fair have been decided. The fair is scheduled to being on July 13 and continue through July 21. The theme for the 2013 Bates County Fair will be “Blue Jeans and Country Greens.”
Those who plan on entering in the Bates County Fair Parade keep in mind the theme of “Blue Jeans and Country Greens” as that is what you will be judged on.
Bates County Fair Books are now available at different locations in the area. These locations include The University of Missouri Extension Office, Sage's Animal Clinic, All Bank Locations in Butler, Adrian Bank in Adrian, and Security Bank in Rich Hill, Hume, and Rockville. They are also available online at http://extension.missouri.edu.bates./fair.aspx.

BATES COUNTY FAIR QUEEN AND PRINCESS CANDIDATES DETERMINED
The Bates County Fair Queen and Princess Candidates have been determined. Running for Bates County Fair Queen is Jennifer Willerton of Adrian and running for Bates County Fair Princess is Drea Shreve-Setzer of Butler and Whitney Willerton of Adrian.
To receive their title of either Bates County Fair Queen or Bates County Fair Princess these ladies will be selling both raffle tickets and fair shares.
Individuals who purchase raffle tickets have a chance of winning either one ½ beef or two ¼ beefs, two ½ hogs, or one of the 5 available gift certificates of $50 - $100.
The Bates County Fair Queen and the Bates County Fair Princess will be crowned at the Coronation to be held on Saturday July 20 at the Mini Rod Pull. Also, after the Coronation at the Mini Rod Pull the winners of the raffle tickets will be announced.

AMERICAN LEGION MEETS JUNE 10TH
American Legion Post 46 and Auxiliary will meet Monday, June 10th, 6:30 pm, at the Flaming Lantern Restaurant. Meetings will follow the meal. Important decisions need to be made, all members please attend.
B.A.T. Meeting Adrian
The Quarterly Adrian B.A.T. meeting will be held Friday June 14th at noon at Wimfield’s on Main Street in Adrian. Crystal Manor will be the host for the June 14th meeting.
