Obituary - Robert Anthony Micklich

Robert Anthony Micklich II 58, of Nevada Missouri Passed away Sunday June 9, 2013 at Freeman Health Systems- West in Joplin Missouri. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Ferry Funeral Home of Nevada Missouri.

The services are scheduled for Wednesday June 12, 2013 at the funeral home. the family will recieve friends from 7-8 Tuesday June 11,2013.

Henry County Man Dies in Early Morning Crash



Around 8:00am this morning Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted by Henry County Sheriffs Department responed to a 1 vehicle accident on Missouri 2 highway .8 miles west of WW Highway in Henry County. The accident occured when the 1996 Ford driven by Kenneth M. Eldred 86 of Windsor Missouri was traveling westbound had some type of unknown medical episode causing him to abruptly travel off the left side of the roadway strike a wooden post and a tree before coming to rest. Mr. Eldred was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle substained moderate damages and was towed from the scene by Jay's towing.





Search Warrant Served in Rockville Several Drugs Found

On the 3rd day of June, 2013, the Bates County Sheriff’s Office, and CNET Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 411 N. Washington, Rockville, Missouri.

During the search the Sheriff’s Office recovered alleged methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription pills, and numerous drug paraphernalia items.

Two people were taking into custody John L. Rector, 44 yrs of Rockville, Missouri, Sherry L. Rector, 31 yrs, of Rockville, Missouri, both charged with Possesion of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or less of marijuana, and Dist./Del./Manf./Produce a Controlled Substance, bonds set at $35,000.00 cash or surety.

On the 7th day of June 2013, the Bates County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop at B highway and N highway.  During a search the Deputy located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Two subjects were arrest and transported to the Bates County Sheriff’s Office.  Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney.

On the 8th day of June 2013, the Bates County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop at T Highway and I 49 Highway.  During a search the Deputy recovered a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  One subject was issued a summons for the marijuana and paraphernalia.

All the entries must be ages 4-8 and weigh under 60lbs. the top 3 riders from Friday and Saturday and Sunday Night will qualify for the finals to be held Sunday Night. First come, First Served. Obituary - Franklin "Frank" Dale Long

Franklin “Frank” Dale Long, 68, Lee's Summit, Missouri, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood, Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in Floral Hills East Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 10 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family, c/o Atkinson Funeral Home, 600 West Wall Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Frank was born May 15, 1945 in Cass County, Missouri, the son of Clifton and Betty Jo (Hammontree) Long. He married Vicki Lynn Brecht on September 7, 1968. Frank was a very experienced mechanic (transmissions) and also in management. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, trap shooting, hunting, and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Trout Association.

Frank was a wonderful husband, father , grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was loved so dearly. If you knew Frank in any way, you knew of his “long talks and stories”, so be prepared to stay and listen for awhile.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Janet Claypool and one son, Robert Dale Long on November 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicki, of the home; one son, Michael Lee Long, Kansas City, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Robert Long, Haley Diana Lynn Long, Autumn Alice May Long and Austin Dale Long; 2 nieces, Dana Dale Bass, Kathy Jo Arnold; 1 nephew, Don Claypool; 1 uncle, Wayne Long and many cousins.
