Obituary - Elisabeth "Lis" McCoy

Funeral services for Elisabeth "Lis" McCoy will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Brother Bill Perkey officiating. Visitation will be prior to the services from 2 - 3 p.m. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Crossroads Hospice or Charity of Choice.

Elisabeth McCoy, age 84 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. She was born January 27, 1929 to Martin and Margeretha Schweitzer Eichenseer in Hohenburg, Germany.

Lis is survived by three sons, Gehard Eichenseer and wife Helga of Amberg, Germany, Wayne McCoy of Butler, Missouri and Mark McCoy and wife Amanda of Rich Hill, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Susanne, Brenna, Zachary, Caiti, Shannen, Hannah and Stephen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford McCoy; a daughter, Connie Marcel; and three brothers, Ludwig, Martin and Hans.

The Dense fog advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 9 am CDT Wednesday... A dense fog advisory remains in effect from 3 am to 9 am CDT Wednesday. 

* Location... along the Kansas and Missouri border into northwest Missouri. 

* Visibilities... widespread visibilities near or below a quarter mile can be expected early Wednesday morning.

* Impacts... reduced visibility will cause hazardous driving conditions across the advisory area. Even in areas where the fog is not as widespread... patches of very dense fog may cause visibility to change quickly while traveling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Miami County Sheriff's Manhunt In Louisburg


The Miami County Sheriff’s Office have been tracking three men this afternoon after a Hillsdale Lake resident was left tied up and her home ransacked. The Trio left the woman bound  and fled the home. One suspect has been caught, the other two are still on foot . Officers are tracking them on U.S. Highway 69. 
A  Helicopter search  is going on in the area  and Patrol Men were lining the highway , locked and loaded as the search continues.  More information as it becomes available to the media. Irma Jean Kendrick, 70, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville. Services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Accident On I-49 Just North Of Butler


Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Butler Fire Department, Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Department is on scene of a 2 vehicle accident 1 mile North of Butler on I-49 around Mile Marker 133. Unknown if there is injuries and if so how bad. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

Butler Bears Pancake Breakfast

August 17th the Butler Bear Backers will host a fund raising Pancake Breakfast. Serving will begin at 7 am till the food is gone.
