Day 21 :The search for Hellen Cook continues.

A dog team is returning today Saturday (weather pending) to continue searching the woods surrounding the pond.
· Yesterday and today, a mule team searched a wider swath of woods in the Warsaw area – covering area not yet searched by any other search parties. Nothing was found.
· Taskforce 5, a professional search and rescue team, volunteered their services to Benton County Sheriff’s Department. Benton County Sheriff is reviewing all of their prior search information, and will be scheduling a date for their assistance once they have a coordinated plan. The family hopes this will occur next week.
· Benton County Sheriff is completing a formal request to drain the pond in Warsaw where Hellen Cook’s effects were found. The Army Corps of Engineers had planned to drain this pond within the year anyway, so considering the pond is such a place of interest, Benton County Sheriff is requesting to move the date up in order to rule out Cook’s presence in the pond.
· Several volunteers are continuing searches in the Warsaw Area – moving out from the pond where Hellen Cook’s effects were found.
· The facebook campaign remains strong with all 50 states showing numerous hits on Hellen Cook’s pictures. The map is turning yellow meaning each state has more than 100 hits. Visit www.facebook.com/findHellenCook to monitor the progress.
· The family has secured a booth at the Missouri State Fair to pass out Hellen Cook fliers. The family is teaming with the Alzheimer’s Association who will be passing out Alzheimer’s information to assist others who are affected by this cruel and deadly disease.
· Hellen’s Heroes, the volunteers helping in Hellen Cook’s search efforts, have signed up for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 6. The url to go directly to Hellen's Heroes team page is http://act.alz.org/goto/HellensHeroes from this link you may make a donation or join the team.
