Closings From Bates County Memorial Hospital

All Bates County Memorial Hospital Family Care Clinics will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2013 for the Labor Day holiday.  They will reopen on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Adriaunna Horton Funeral

Family and friends gathered to mourn the loss of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton on Wednesday August 28, 2013. The Golden City, Missouri girl was abducted and killed last week.


The ceremony was in the Golden City School Gymnasium. From there, a motorcycle escort led the procession to the cemetery. Adriaunna's uncle led a rider-less horse and the casket was carried in a horse-drawn carriage.

Various family members followed on foot wearing pink, Adriaunna's favorite color.

Mourners later gathered at the city park to celebrate Adriaunna's life.

Mazda Miata winner will be announced September 6th at 9 am on FM-92

 The date for the drawing for the winner of the 2007 Red Miata will be this Friday September 6^th. The winner will be announced from the Max Motors dealership in Butler, live on FM-92 following the 9 am Local News. There are just a few tickets left for those that want a “ last chance” to win this 2007 Red Mazda MX-5 Miata donated by Max Motors.

The final few tickets are available at the Butler Senior Center until Thursday afternoon. Tickets are $10.00 each or three tickets for $25.00.

Weather Update: Peak Of Heat Arriving

Here's a look at the forecast for the upcoming holiday weekend. We may reach triple digit heat on Friday and Saturday, but sweet relief is headed our way for Labor day and early next week!

Diesel Fuel Leak At Bear Stop Caused By A Semi

 

Butler Fire Department along with Butler Police Department are in route to the Bear Stop on a report of a semi that has hit the diesel fuel pump. Unknown how bad the diesel is leaking. Please use caution when traveling in this area. Bates County Live will update this story as soon as any more information becomes available.

1 Vehicle Accident I-49 South Bound

Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Butler Fire Department is in route to a 1 vehicle accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 around mile marker 124. Unknown injuries at this time. One lane of traffic is closed at this time because the wreck is on the Marais De Cygne river bridge North of Rich Hill. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

Power outage affects large portion of Butler...

Crews are currently working to restore electrical power in the southwest portion of the city. The exact cause of the outage is unknown but may have been caused by a faulty circuit breaker.

Use extra caution as schools are dismissing at this time. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
