Update: Osage Valley Power Outages



 The Osage Valley Electric Crews are continuing to work to restore power. Several lines have been successfully restored. There are several downed lines across the service area scattered from Freeman to Warsaw. Crews will work to restore main lines first to restore power to as many as possible first and then will continue to work on individual outages after main lines are restored.

NEW RESTAURANT IN ARCHIE! THE FISHING DOCK BAR AND GRILL

We would like to welcome a new Restaurant to Archie. Brian Wimsatt is the owner of the new restaurant called The Fishing Dock Bar and Grill located at 101 South West Outer Road in Archie.
The restaurant features Steak, Shrimp, Fish Sandwiches and a breakfast menu. The Restaurant is open 7 days each week from 6 am to 1 am. Serving  breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen closes at 9 pm and the fun starts with cocktails and a game room to include the “  big screen”  for the game of the week. After 9 pm , it’s 21 years and older only.
We welcome this new business to our eating choices and our community.
Also they are Now accepting applications for COOK, WAITRESS and BARTENDER. Must have experience, good references and a positive attitude!!

Vernon County Sheriff's Department Deputy Of The Year

UPDATE: Stolen Vehicle Found In Butler


The stolen 1997 Dodge Intrepid from last night was found this morning around 9am parked in front of a house on North Delaware Street here in Butler. The car was abandon and appeared to have lots of grass underneth it and all the windows rolled down also the drivers side door was partially opened. Power Outages All Over



Due to the storms Osage Valley Electric Cooperative is experiencing several outages across our service area. The Crews are working hard to restore power as quickly as possible. Also the City of Butler just got power back on to most after being off for around 2 hours this morning. Bates County Live will attempt to try and update this when more information becomes available.

Butler Police Department Looking For Stolen Vehicle


The Butler Police Department is looking for a stolen 1997 Dodge Intrepid that was taken sometime tonight after 6pm in Butler. The vehicle is gray in color and has no hub caps and a dent in the hood. This vehicle was taken from a house on South Main Street here in Butler. The license Plate on the vehicle is YG1 A8 T. If you see this vehicle please contact the Butler Police Department at 660-679-6131.


Weather Update: Thunderstorms Tonight

A few scattered showers near KC this afternoon, with clouds cooling temperatures for some. We'll have a cold front approach the area late tonight and Sunday bringing a huge relief from the heat and humidity on Labor day. A few clusters of thunderstorms may approach the area ahead of this front Sunday morning. Widespread rain is NOT expected, with a rain chance between 20 and 40% for most.

Worse news? Rain chances look minimal heading into NEXT weekend.
