JAMES MCDONALD OF BUTLER WINS CAR


THE PROUD WINNER OF THE 2007 RED MIATA WAS JAMES MCDONALD OF BUTLER. THIS FUND RAISING EVENT GENERATED FUNDS FOR THE UPKEEP AND THE NEEDS OF THE BUTLER SENIOR CENTER. THE CAR WAS DONATED BY MAX MOTORS AND OVER 1000 TICKETS WERE SOLD. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY MAX MOTORS GIVES BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY. WE TAKE THE TIME TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO JAMES MCDONALD OF BUTLER … THE WINNER OF THE 2007 MIATA DONATED BY MAX MOTORS OF BUTLER.

OSCAR MAYER WIENERMOBILE‏ COMING TO BUTLER


The World Famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is coming to Butler on September 13 from 2 -5pm. The unique looking vehicle will be on display at the Country Mart Grocery Store here in Butler. Everyone is encouraged to come out and check out this famous vehicle.

Obituary - Larry Lynn Bowes

Larry Lynn Bowes, 76, Peculiar, Missouri, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. A memorial/graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at the Glenwild Cemetery in Cleveland, Missouri, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Larry was born August 30, 1937 in Cleveland, Missouri, the son of Karl and Stellene (Laffoon) Bowes. He grew up in Cleveland and Peculiar, Missouri and graduated from Peculiar High School. He moved to Hermitage, Missouri in 1984 and had just moved back to Peculiar last month. Larry married Patricia “Pati” Hillman on December 1, 1990. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Johnny and a son-in-law, Vern Miller. He is survived by his wife, Pati, of the home; two sons, Larry J. Bowes, Harrisonville, Missouri and M. Alan Irvin, Hermitage, Missouri; four daughters, A. Kim Miller, Peculiar, Missouri, Lori Vogt, Deepwater, Missouri, Janet Gibbs, Trimble, Missouri and Kim Frazier, Olathe, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

REMINDER: Fight Night On 49 III This Weekend



Fight Night On 49 III will be held Saturday September 7th, 2013 at The Adrian Optimist Building in Adrian Missouri. The weigh-ins for the fights will be Friday September 6th, Bu2013 at Patriot Collison Repair/ Daves Quality Auto North of Butler on siness I-49/ North Orange Street starting at 7pm . The gates will open at 5pm and the fights will begin around 7pm. There will also be a bake sale for Baby Jackson Lough at the event. More drop off locations have been added to the list for those you interested in assisting the Butler Food Pantry with their  non- perishable food donation drive. Drop off locations are:
Adrian Bank, American Family Insurance, Citizens Bank, Cook Insurance, Country Mart, DSWA. Security Bank, Pantry Thrift Store, Yoss Thriftway, and the Pantry will accept perishable and non perishable items.
