Obituary - Larry Lewis Frazier

Larry Lewis Frazier, 67, Gravois Mills, Missouri, formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri, died September 9, 2013 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 14 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Contributions may be made to Phi Gamma Delta, Larry Frazier Memorial, c/o John Davis, P.O. Box 80, Liberty, MO 64069.

Larry was born February 6, 1946 in Adrian, Missouri, a son of Thomas and Ruth Winnonah (Lewis) Frazier. He was a 1964 graduate of Harrisonville High School and a 1968 graduate of William Jewell College where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received a purple heart, bronze star and an air medal. He moved to Kingman, Kansas after his release from the military in 1970 and managed the Ben Franklin Store in Kingman. He later went to work for Fabpro Oriented Polymers in Kingman, for a number of years, and in 2009, he moved to Osage Beach, Missouri.

Larry was a member of the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie, Missouri. He was a member and past Master of the Ninnescah Masonic Lodge #230 A.F. & A.M. in Kingman, Kansas; the Kansas York Rite Chapter #71, Kingman; Wichita, Kansas Scottish Rite and the Midian Shrine in Wichita.

Survivors include two brothers, Thomas H. Frazier, Kansas City, Missouri and Robert “Bob” Frazier, Overland Park, Kansas; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Small Fire In Butler



The Butler Fire Department along with Butler Police Department are in route to a small fire in the back yard of a residence in the 200 block of south Mechanic. The fire is contained to a childrens play set. Bates County Live will update this when and if any more information becomes available.

St. Clair County Warrant Arrests

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, Desiaree Moore, 30, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a probation revocation warrant. Moore was charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, in May 2011. In February 2012 she pled guilty and received a suspended imposition of sentence. She was placed on supervised probation for five years and ordered to pay restitution. Bond was set at $2,000 cash only.

On Friday, Sept. 6, Jerry Eaton, 41, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for commitment to serve sentence. On July 1, Easton was sentenced to serve three days in the St. Clair County Jail after pleading guilty to a class C felony of unlawfully possessing a firearm in November 2012. Eaton was issued no bond and ordered to serve the sentence.


On Sunday, Sept. 8, Sean Cretel, 40, Osceola, was arrested in St. Clair County on a misdemeanor warrant for driving while suspended from Johnson County. Bond was set at $1,000 cash or surety.


On Monday, Sept. 9, Thomas Edward, 63, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear on a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license in Aug. 2010. Bond was set at $1,000 cash or surety.

WHEREAS, “National Preparedness Month” creates an important opportunity for every resident of the City of Butler to prepare their homes, businesses, and communities for any type of emergency including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks; and
 
WHEREAS, investing in the preparedness of ourselves, our families, our businesses and our communities can reduce fatalities and economic devastation in our communities and in our nation; and
 
WHEREAS, The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Ready Campaign, Citizen Corps, and other federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, private, and volunteer agencies are working to increase public activities in preparing for emergencies and to educate individuals on how to take action; and
 
WHEREAS, emergency preparedness is the responsibility of every citizen of the City of Butler and all citizens are urged to make preparedness a priority and work together, as a team to ensure that individuals, families, and communities are prepared for disasters and emergencies of all type; and
 
WHEREAS, all citizens of the City of Butler are encouraged to participate in citizen preparedness activities and asked to visit the websites of the Ready Campaign at Ready.gov or Listo.gov (in Spanish) and become more prepared.
 
THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Butler hereby proclaims September, 2013 as National Preparedness Month, and encourages all citizens and businesses to develop their own emergency preparedness plan, and work together toward creating a more prepared society.

This tournament is open to all students and adults! NO RESTRICTIONS!!! Each team can have 7 players (this includes 1 alternate) and it costs $100 per team.

Stolen vehicle recovered near Rockville



On Thursday, Sept. 5, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office recovered a stolen vehicle from property located near SW 150 and SW230 Road near Rockville owned by Kevin Clark.

Clark stated he was hanging a deer stand on his property and noticed a white truck on the other side of the creek. A deputy arrived on scene and Clark showed where the vehicle was located. The deputy noticed several trees knocked down and the vehicle deep in the woods an estimated 100 yards from the road.  A check of the vehicle revealed the vehicle was a 2005 Ford one-ton truck with a utility bed stolen from Harrisonville in Cass County on Sept. 1. The vehicle was towed by Cross Towing with no hold. There are no suspects and the investigation is continuing.
