Bates County Sheriff's Department Press Release: Drugs Found In Vehicle Stop

Press Release

Drugs Found

Angela Baxter
On 9/11/2013 the Bates County Sheriff’s Office was assisting Butler Police Department on a Shots fired call.  The call originated in the north end of Butler.  Butler Police Department confirmed a shot was actually fired into a car.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark SUV type vehicle. At approximately 1045pm deputies observed a dark SUV traveling south on Business 49 in Butler.   The vehicle was stopped around South Business 49 and the outer road.  The vehicle and its occupants were from southwest Missouri.

A search of the vehicle did not reveal any weapons but did produce almost 40 grams of methamphetamines found in a purse in the back seat.

The owner identified as Angela Baxter, W F, 5/10/1960 of Eminence Mo was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Her bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. It was later determined that the vehicle was not part of the incident that Butler Police Department was investigating.
