Obituary - Robert "Bobby" Edward Henry Jr.

Funeral services for Bobby Henry of Butler, Missouri will be 3 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with Dr. Terry Davis officiating and Mitch Oakes and Pastor Ron Dunlap assisting. Visitation prior to services from 2 - 3 p.m. at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions to Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Robert Edward "Bobby" Henry Jr., age 61 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, October 11, 2013 at his home in Butler. He was born December 2, 1951 to Robert E. and Willene O. McElwain Henry in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bobby, one of three children, was a lifelong resident of Butler where he attended elementary school and graduated from Butler High School in 1970. He continued his education at Ft. Scott Community College earning an Associate Degree. Bobby worked as Vice President of Sales alongside his dad who owned Henry Radio--a ham radio operation. On July 20, 1991 Bobby married the love of his life, Cheryl Lynn (Huerner) Beasley. They raised three children and spent 17 wonderful years together. His heart was broken by Cheryl’s death on October 19, 2008. Bobby belonged to the Butler Country Club and Lions Club. He was baptized at the Butler Presbyterian Church and later attended the Butler First Baptist Church.

Bobby is survived by one son, James “Jimmy” Edward Beasley II and wife Jessie of Hume, Missouri; two daughters, Cassandra Lynn Rogers and husband James “Jay” of Hume, Missouri and Melody Dawn Schowengerdt and husband Jesse of Butler, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jaylyn, Cassidy and James “McCrae” Rogers of Hume, Missouri, Gavin Beasley of Hume, Missouri and Kensley Schowengerdt of Butler, Missouri; a brother, David Henry and wife Margaret of Delmar, California; a sister, Jane Gold of Kansas City, Missouri; two nieces, Cindy Jagnanean and husband Rudy and their children Erik and Ian and Annie Howard and husband Jeff and their son Owen; numerous other relatives of Cheryl’s . . . and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Cheryl.

Obituary - Betty Gaynor

Graveside funeral services for Betty Gaynor will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri with Greg Mullinax presiding. There is no visitation. Betty Jean Gaynor, 84 of Butler, Missouri passed away October 10, 2013 in Butler. She was born November 11, 1928 in Alabama, daughter of Guy Columbus and Lena May (Hill) Coates.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bill Coates. She is survived by her husband, Don Gaynor of Appleton City; daughter Sandy Phillips of Butler, Missouri; son Billy Hill of Appleton City/Peculiar, Missouri; stepson Ronnie Gaynor of California; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Rollover Accident Near Rockville



Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Rockville Fire Department and The Bates County Sheriff Department responded to a 1 vehicle accident this morning around 6:20 am on Route B at County Road SE 14545. The accident occurred when the 1992 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Scott L. Anderson of Rockville Missouri was traveling West bound, struck a embankment and overturned, and coming to rest on its top. The driver was taken to Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City with minor injuries.

UPDATE: Gas Leak North Of Butler



The Butler Fire Department along with Liberty Utilites is still on the scene of a Natural Gas leak North of Butler on Main Street. The road is shutdown and will continue to be a little longer as they work to fix this leak. The leak was caused by a vehicle running over a line. Please use caution when in this area.

ROCKVILLE QUILT SHOW



The Rockville United Methodist Church is having a Quilt Show on Saturday, October 19th from 9:00 am. to 3:00 pm. The church will have a bed turning ceremony, country store, duckless duck pond, lunch served by The Rockville United Methodist Church Youth Group, and a Quilt Raffle drawing will be held at 3:00 pm. Tate Stevens is a Amercian County Music Artist from Belton, Missouri who won the second season The X Factor show in 2012. Everyone is encouraged to attend this.
