Urgent need to sell drawing tickets Butler Senior Center‏

The Senior Festival is just a week away: Sunday, October 27th
Sunday Dinner, music, theme-basket auction will be at the Fairgrounds beginning at 11:30 am.
This major fund-raiser for the Butler Senior Center has a big task to accomplish first:
Selling up to 3,000 drawing tickets for donated valuable prizes.
                Nine $100 cash prizes
                Two $100 Gift cards for Country Mart
                three $50 gift certificates
That’s a total of 14 valuable prizes. Each ticket has a chance of winning any one of them.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
Tickets available at Max Motors, Edie’s Collectibles on the Square, Caskey, Hopkins, Wilhelmas Law Firm
and at the Senior Center. Board members also have tickets. You may call the Board Treasurer at 660-424-3552

available at the Sunday Dinner up to the time of the drawing.

One Vehicle Accident In Bates County



Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Oct. 18 around 3pm in Bates County on County Road NE 15504, just east of NE 133 Rd.

Harold D. Hubbard, 31, Adrian, not wearing a seat belt, westbound in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment, overturned, and then came to a rest in a creek.

Harold D. Hubbard experienced moderate injuries and was transported by Bates County EMS to Bates County Hospital. His vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Adrian Tow. It was unknown at the time of this accident report whether he had drivers insurance. A passenger in the Hubbard vehicle was injured. Samantha J. Hubbard, 26, Adrian, unknown as to whether she was wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries and was taken by Bates County EMS to Bates County Hospital.

Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper B.R. Dodson investigated the accident and was assisted by the Bates County Sheriff’s Department.

Butler Hydrant Flushing Completed

 
The City of Butler had planned to flush hydrants on October 24th and 25th to complete the flushing project they had started last week on October 16th. Changes have been made, as the project was completed on October 17th.
 
There will not be any hydrants flushed on October 24th or 25th. Flushing city hydrants is a routine maintenance activity of the Butler Water Distribution Dept. and Fire Dept. to keep the city hydrants working properly Once again, there will be no hydrants flushed on October 24th and 25th.

REMINDER: Homecoming In Butler Today

Butler High School students also celebrate Fall sports homecoming today. The parade begins at 3:00 p.m. at the high school and will go around the Historic Butler Square. The game ball for the football game between the Butler Bears and Cass-Midway Vikings will be delivered by Sky Dive KC of Kansas City at 6:40 p.m., twenty minutes before kick-off. The royalty coronation and the senior band member recognition are scheduled at halftime and the dance follows the game.
