BUTLER BEARS TIME AND LOCATION INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY GAME


There are some issues regarding the Butler Bears , October 26th game. To clear up any confusion, FM-92 spoke with Kirk Hannah the Athletic Director for The Butler High School. There have been various time and place discrepancies regarding the location of the game and kick off time.

 In previous years this game has been played at the Truman High School Field. Not this year….. The final word from Kirk Hannah regarding the location and time of the October 26th game is as follows.  
The Butler Bears will play this Saturday in Lee’s Summit against the Summit Christian Academy Eagles on their turf. The game will kick off at 2 pm .
Sports Announcers, Matt Maisch and Jason Lawrence will be on location this Saturday for the convenience of those that can’t attend the game.

Milk Recall In Missouri



500 gallons of skim milk have been recalled by Ozark Mountain Creamery in Mountain Grove, after high residual phosphatase was found in it. The Missouri Department of Agriculture, the state Milk Board and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services say that could indicate it was not properly pasteurized and could contain harmful pathogens.

The milk was packaged in half-gallon glass bottles with green caps marked “10/24,” and was bottled on October 7.  Any unused milk can be returned to the place it was purchased.

The Butler Optimist Club held its annual awards banquet on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Building at the Bates County Fairgrounds.  The theme for the evening was the “Chili Bowl.” Members were encouraged to bring a pot of chili or soup.  Voting for the best recipe was made by placing a monetary donation in a jar in front of what members thought was the best.  
 
Past club president Mike Hill welcomed the group.  Sean Cook led the pledge to the U.S. flag and Jason Lawrence gave the invocation.  After the meal, Mike Hill and Linda Mareth presided over the award presentations.  The following individuals were honored for their Optimist achievements this past year:

After the award presentations, Theresa Evans, Optimist West Central District Lt. Governor, installed the 2013-2014 officers: President, Randy Kash; 1st Vice President, Dillon Deems; 2nd Vice President, Linda Mareth; Secretary, Meghan Newsome; and Treasurer, Lucille Mundey.  Serving on the Board of Directors are 3-year board members Darin Jones and Lynne McLain; 2-year board members Dana Arnold; 1-year board members Tyler Green, Doug McGuire and Mike Hill.  
 
After Bud Mareth led the group in the Optimist pledge, results of the silent auction were announced.  Members also participated in a pie auction and a live auction.  All money raised will go to help the Butler Optimists in supporting local youth programs.  The evening ended with music by Mike Kershner (M-Pulse).

One Vehicle Accident Sends Rich Hill Teenager To Hospital



Around 9:05pm last night Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County EMS responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on 14th Street 1/2 mile North of Poplar Street in Rich Hill. The accident occurred when the 2001 Ford driven by Hannah L. Bosch 16, Of Rich Hill Missouri was traveling Northbound and traveled off the roadway and struck a ditch which caused the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its top. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Bates County Memorial Hospital by Ambulance with Moderate Injuries. The vehicle was totaled and towed by Gilkey Tow of Rich Hill.
