Bates County Sheriffs Office Press Release: CCW Class

 
The Bates County Sheriffs Office will be holding a free CCW class on November 9th. This class will be open Bates County residents who wishes to obtain a conceal and carry permit. You will be required to shoot 50 rounds with both a semi-automatic and a revolver to qualify. We have limited guns for rent with ammo for $20 each. You will also need eye protection and ear protection. If you are interested in a ccw contact Jami or Becca at 660-679-3232 to reserve a spot. class size is limited.

Weather Update: Dry This Weekend, Rainy Next Week




Does your Halloween costume involve an umbrella or a poncho? Rainy conditions will be moving in for the week ahead, and while most of the rain currently looks like it will start to push out of our region sometime Thursday morning, a lot can change temporally when a system is still 5 days away. In the meantime, enjoy the dry, mild conditions that will persist through the rest of the weekend!

Barton County Sheriffs Office Press Release: 2 Suspects Arrested On Burgulary Charges

   
The Barton County Sheriffs Office made arrests on two burglary suspects in the Northwest part of the county. Suspects were located after being seen by the son of the landowners and followed by a neighbor reporting via 911 the location of the suspects. Thanks to all involved in the apprehension of the suspects.

Small Fire Cause By Power Surge In Butler




The Butler Fire Department is on scene to a small fire in the ditch in front of the Dusty Attic Store on North Orange Street. The fire occurred when the power flickered and surged off around 10 minutes ago unknown if there is lines down at this time. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.

REMINDER: Mini Nascar Race Tonight In Butler

 
The Butler Chamber of Commerce entry fee for the Mini Car Race has been set at $125.00 per vehicle. The race will be Saturday October 26th following the State Championship BBQ. The event will be held at the Arena on the Bates County Fair Grounds. The Mini Nascar Race wills start at 6pm and this year the feature driver is our very own Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson racing the 911 Mini Nascar. The event is free to all spectators and the proceeds from the race will benefit the Butler Bear Backers.
