Memorial services for Marilyn Cook will be 6:00 PM Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Mullinax Funeral Home – Drexel Chapel, Drexel, Missouri (816-657-4400) with Rev. Gary Cantrell officiating. Visitation prior to services, 5:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be 10:00 AM Monday in Sharon Cemetery near Drexel. Marilyn Cook, 69 of Adrian, Missouri passed away November 26, 2013 at Adrian Manor in Adrian. Marilyn was born October 19, 1944 in Harrisonville, Missouri. Among surviving family members is Marilyn’s sister, Carolyn Gunnels and husband John of Drexel, Missouri; as well as other family members.  A complete obituary will be published as the information becomes available.

Weather Update: Warmer Weather On The Way

 Another day of very cold temperatures, but relief is on the way. Expect 50s for areas south of Interstate 70 as early as perhaps Friday. Warming trend will continue through the weekend and into next week. Middle to upper 50s possible for Monday and Tuesday.

Obituary - William Martin Barnes

William Martin Barnes 77 of  Hume, passed away Monday at his home. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with reverend Mark Mitchell officiating. Burial is to follow in the West Liberty Cemetery -- on the Bourbon County, Kansas side of the state line. The family receives friends between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to the Deerfield Baptist Church are suggested.

HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE: More Additional arrest in theft investigation

According to Henry County Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, Sgt. Mike Nelson has continued to work the assault and theft cases that began this past Friday, November 22, 2013.

An additional arrest was made on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 of Devin Allen Robinson, age 25, Clinton for investigation of burglary and stealing. Previous arrest in this investigation includes Bobbie Jo Douglas, Roy James Kirk, age 28, Clinton and Randy Taylor, age 33 of Leeton, Missouri. Robinson has been released pending the filing of formal charges by Prosecuting Attorney Richard Shields.
