Butler JH Wrestling Meet Results (November 19th)‏

On Tuesday, Nov 19, the Butler Bears junior high wrestling team hosted a meet with Adrian, Diamond, Lone Jack, Louisburg, and Prairie View. The Bears wrestled well in the event, gaining valuable experience and mat time in their first competition of the year. The Bears were 27-10 overall in matches wrestled. The next competition for the Bears is the Oak Grove middle school meet on Thursday, Nov 21.

REMINDER: SCHOWENGERDT HOLIDAY REMEMBRANCE PROGRAM TODAY


The public is invited to the 11th annual Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel’s Holiday Remembrance Program on Sunday, December 1st beginning at 2pm.

Stolen Semi Truck Wrecked Outside Of Butler



Around 3:15am this morning the Butler Fire Department was called out to a wreck on 52 Highway West of Butler on the S Curves ( Steele and Kings Dairy Farm Corners) . The Fire Department was called out due to leaking fuel from the wrecked Peterbilt Semi. The 1977 Peterbilt which is blue and white in color was stolen earlier in the night from Heiman's Grain Elevator in Butler. If you have any information leading to the arrest/arrests of the person/persons responsible for the theft of this vehicle please contact the Bates County Sheriff's Department at 660-679-3232

UPDATE: One Vehicle Rollover Accident On H Highway




The accident that was out on H Highway at the corners right before Spruce has been cleared. Upon the arrival to the accident Missouri State Highway Patrol found no one in or around the rolled over vehicle. Right now it's Unknown at this time if someone was picked up or fled the scene of the accident. The first responders and Fire Department is back in quarters at this time. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

Obituary - Robert Samuel "Sam" Doerflinger

Robert Samuel "Sam" Doerflinger, 71, of Adrian, Missouri died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, KS. Funeral Services are pending.

One Vehicle Rollover Accident on H Highway

The Butler Fire Department along with Bates County EMS and Missouri State Highway Patrol is in route to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on H Highway at the corners that go into Spruce East of Butler. A vehicle has overturned in the middle of the roadway. Unknown at this time if there is any injuries. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

Stolen Vehicle Broadcast Out Of Independence

The Independence Police Department has issued a stolen vehicle broadcast for a stolen white 2011 Volvo S60 car. The car has a Missouri License plate of SH0-A2L. The car was stolen earlier today from 24 hr Fitness Gym in Independence. If you see this vehicle please call your local police or call the Independence Police department at 816.325.7300
