Police Looking For Wreckless Driver In Butler


The Butler Police Department along with The Bates County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Maroon In color newer model Chevrolet truck with hay spikes and  a hay bale on the back of it. The truck was driving reckless and knocked over some mail boxes on Nursery Street here in Butler. The vehicle was last seen traveling Westbound on Nursery Street here in Butler. Possible House Fire In Butler


The Butler Fire Department along with Butler Police Department is in route to 602 North Gregory Street here in Butler on a possible fire. The caller stated there was sparks coming from behind a stove in the kitchen. Everyone is out of the house at this time. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available.

Weather Update: Dangerously Cold Through Tuesday AM

 
The Snow is starting to diminish across northwest MO and eastern KS, but we're seeing blowing and drifting of snow as winds increase to around 30 mph. Wind chill values are ranging from -5 to -15 in northwestern MO and eastern KS. Wind chill values will get worse tonight and generally be in the -25 to -35 degree range by tomorrow morning. Drive safe out there and bundle up, the coldest conditions are yet to come.

*Just a minor correction to the graphic but the pink area of wind chills across northern MO and IA should say -35 to -45*.

Appleton City Teenager Hurt In Saturday Afternoon Accident


An Appleton City teenager was hurt Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on St. Clair County route H around four miles East of Rockville. The 15-year-old Michaela A. Stomp was taken to the hospital in Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City for treatment of a minor injury.

Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper Quinton Bland says the collision happened shortly before 3:00 p.m on Saturday. when the 2003 mini Cooper, driven by Stomp, pulled up to a stop sign before pulling into the path of South-bound 2005 Ford pick-up truck driven by 28-year-old Joshua K. Heiserman of Rockville. Mr.Heiserman was not hurt and the vehicles both received moderate damage.
