School Starting Late Tomorrow



The following Schools will be starting 2 hours later due to the cold weather:

Adrian School District will start 2 hours later, free breakfast cancelled for Thursday 

Appleton City School will Start 2 hours later

Archie School will Start 2 hours later

Miami School bus routes and school will run 2 hours later, No Pre-School.

State of Missouri Endangered Person Advisory


The Phelps County Sheriff's Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at the 11800 block of State Rd V, Rolla on 01/20/2014.

Missing Is:
Cassandra Robertson a white female, age 4

Vehicle Information:
Silver 2006 Nissan Quest bearing MO, FG2D5J

Possible suspects or associates are believed to be:
Nikie Robertson, a white female, age 39, hgt 5'6", 145 lbs, brown hair, green eyes, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

The endangered missing person:
Cassandra, is a white female, age 4, hgt 2'6", 40 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes, wearing a gray zippered shirt with a Hello Kitty logo.

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident:
Cassandra currently has an eye infection requiring medication. The mother, Nikie Robertson, has a history of suicidal tendencies and substance abuse.  Suspect may be en route to Las Cruces, NM or Colorado via unknown routes.

Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Phelps County Sheriff's Department at 573-426-3860. 

Obituary - Robert Lewis McGennis, Sr.

82-year-old Robert Lewis McGennis, Sr., Milo, and a former township grader operator in the Metz area, passed away Monday, January 20, at the Willow Lane Nursing Home, Butler. Arrangements are under direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and a memorial service is scheduled at one o'clock Monday afternoon, January 27, at Ferry Funeral Home with Roger Beach officiating. Friends may call until 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, at Ferry Funeral Home.

Miami School delaying the start of school tomorrow



Due to the forecast of extreme cold weather conditions, The 

Miami School will be delaying the start of school tomorrow, January 23rd, 2014. School will be starting at 10:A.M. Buses will run 2 hours later than usual. 

If your child rides the bus , please dress them warmly, even with heaters buses will be cool.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest: Butler Man Arrested On Drug Charges

Around 2:30pm yesterday 1-21-14 the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 49 year old Robert D. Gillispie of Butler Missouri. Mr. Gillispie was charged with 1 count of Felony Possession of a controlled substance and 1 count of Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Bates County Jail

St.Clair County Sheriff's Office Children's Wish Fund Event

On Saturday, March 8, the St Clair County Sheriff's Office will host a co-ed volleyball tournament and chili cook-off at the Osceola School. Teams can register for $100 and the tournament begins at 9 a.m. Admission is free. Those wanting to register must be signed up by Feb. 28.
The chili cook-off is free to register. Tickets for all you can eat chili for $5 per person will be available at the door. Chili will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. The winner of the chili cook-off will be awarded 50 percent of the proceeds from the cook-off..
All other proceeds from the event will go to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Children's Wish Fund to purchase Christmas gifts for local youth.
