Barn Fire West Of Adrian

Around 4:45pm this evening the Adrian Fire Department along with Drexel Fire Department and Amsterdam Fire Department responded to a barn fire. The location of the barn fire was 7.5 miles West of Adrian on 18 Highway to County Road 7501. The barn reportedly had tractors in it at the time of the fire. Bates County Live is trying to get more information on this and will update when and if more information becomes available.

School Delays For Tomorrow 1 - 24 - 14

The Appleton City School District will start 2 hours later tomorrow Friday January 24, 2014 due to the cold weather and wind chills. Bates County Live will update anymore School Delays or Business Cancellations.

The Phelps County Sheriff's Department has Cancelled the Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at the 11800 block of State Rd V, Rolla on 01/20/2014. 

Missing Is: 
Cassandra Robertson a white female, age 4 

Vehicle Information: 
Silver 2006 Nissan Quest bearing MO, FG2D5J 

Possible suspects or associates are believed to be: 
Nikie Robertson, a white female, age 39, hgt 5'6", 145 lbs, brown hair, green eyes, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. 

The endangered missing person: 
Cassandra, is a white female, age 4, hgt 2'6", 40 lbs, brown hair, blue eyes, wearing a gray zippered shirt with a Hello Kitty logo. 

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident: 
Found safely in New Mexico.

Cassandra currently has an eye infection requiring medication. The mother, Nikie Robertson, has a history of suicidal tendencies and substance abuse.  Suspect may be en route to Las Cruces, NM or Colorado via unknown routes. 

Anyone seeing the missing person, suspect, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Phelps County Sheriff's Department at 573-426-3860. 

Update: Modular Home Fire In Foster

Around 11:45am this morning The Foster Fire Department along with The Rich Hill Fire Department, Hume Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bates County Sheriff's Department responded to a modular home in the town of Foster. The residence belonged to Leland Smith and was burnt to the ground. No one was injured during this fire. Bates County Live will update this when a fund for the family is set up. 

Modular Home Fire In Foster

The Foster Fire Department along with The Rich Hill Fire Department, Hume Fire Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bates County Sheriff's Department are on scene of  a modular home in the town of Foster.  The residence of Leland Smith is fully engulfed in flames at this time and there is reports of ammunition in the home. Unknown at this time if anyone is inside the home. Bates County Live will update this when more information and pictures becomes available.

Butler Fire Department Press Release: Burn Ban

NEWS RELEASE

BUTLER FIRE DEPARTMENT

 Effective immediately due to extremely dry conditions, the Butler Fire Department will issue no more burning permits until significant moisture is received.

For individuals living outside the city in areas where burning is allowed, burning is discouraged.

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Friday, January 24th from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M.

Winds at that time from the southwest from 20 to 30 MPH gusting to 40 MPH, along with relative humidity values in the 20% to 30% range will possibly increase the fire danger to the critical level.

Structure Fire In Drexel

The Adrian Fire Department is in route to assist the Drexel Fire Department and Central Cass Fire Department on a House/Garage Fire. The location of the fire is 3700 East 339th Street which is North of Drexel. Unknown at this time if the house was occupied. Weather Update: Dangerous Wind Chills

The Wind chills this morning are approaching dangerous levels, as cold as -15 to -25. Wind chills will remain well below zero into the afternoon with highs today only in the teens. Much warmer conditions will move in for Friday, but gusty winds will bring a high fire danger for much of the area.
