Missouri Fence Laws Workshop Coming to Butler‏

MU Extension State Fence Law Workshop 

January 28, 2014
Robert Frost's wisdom "Good fences make good neighbors" has endured for more than 100 years.In Missouri, that depends on where you live.

Joe Koenen, University of Missouri Extension ag business specialist, will explain state statutes governing fences during an upcoming workshop that will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27, 2014.

The workshop will be available via an internet connection in Butler at the MU Extension Office.

Missouri Attorney General to investigating propane price hikes

The Attorney General’s Office has announced it will investigate the cause of the rise in the price of propane gas. Attorney General Chris Koster acknowledges that he received a request from Senator Mike Parson (R-Bolivar) to conduct an investigation, and says forty consumers have filed complaints with the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division about increases.

Obituary - Lowell Ray Tillery

75-year-old Lowell Ray Tillery, Nevada, passed away Sunday at Freeman-West Hospital, Joplin. Arrangements are under direction of Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, and a memorial service is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, at the funeral home with burial to be scheduled later in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are suggested.

Early Morning Structure Fire North of Passaic

Around 3:45am this morning the Adrian and Butler Fire Departments was called out to a structure fire 1 mile North of the 4 way stop in Passaic just past MoKan Livestock Yard. When the fire broke out there was 2 people in building they made it out with one man going to the hospital with minor burns. The Fire Departments had the fire under control by 4:08am.

Building Collapse In Appleton City : 1876 Saddlery building Appleton City, taken by wind 1/26/14

Last night January 26, 2014 at approximately 9 pm. The Appleton City Volunteer Fire Department and Appleton City Public Works Employees responded to a building collapse on main street in Appleton City. The building was built in 1876 and was formerly the Saddlery Building

The building is now owned by Steve Collins and was currently being used for equipment storage. No one was injured in this and the crews worked hard to remove debris from the road with a skid steer and shovels. The building owners would like to Thank all friends for helping start the clean up process.
