Bates County Sheriff's Office: Weather/Travel Update

ADVISORY: WINTER WEATHER EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON. LIGHT SNOW,SLEET,PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE. UP TO 1 INCH OF SNOW, DO NOT TRAVEL IF ALL POSSIBLE.

UPDATE: Rollover Accident South Of Archie

Around 7:54 a.m. this morning the Adrian Fire Department along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Central Cass Fire Department responded to a 1 vehicle rollover in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around mile marker 146.2 which is just South of Archie. The accident occurred when the 1998 ford Explorer driven by 62 year old Ross H. Yarnell of Joplin, Missouri lost control and overturned on slick roads. The driver was taken by Central Cass Fire to Belton Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Miller Tow.


1 Vehicle Rollover Accident South Of Butler


The Butler Fire Department along with Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Department is in route to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on I-49 at mile marker 126.4 South of Butler around the Miami Creek area. The report is a vehicle rolled over in median. Everyone is out of the vehicle at this time with no injuries. Bates County Live will update this when more information becomes available.

Osceola Teenager Suffers Minor Injuries In 1 Vehicle Accident

An Osceola teenager suffered a minor injury in a one-vehicle mishap on St. Clair County route B, five miles West of Osceola, about 5:20 p.m. Friday. 18-year-old Allyson B. Ott was taken to Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola by ambulance. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck happened when a West-bound 2001 Chevy Tracker, driven by 22-year-old Savannah J. Maxwell of Osceola,ran off the road and overturned and struck a tree. Allyson Ott was riding in the vehicle and Maxwell was not hurt. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Bray's Tow.

Pleasant Hill Woman Injured In Cass County Crash

One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Jan. 31 in Cass County on Highway 7 south of 227th St.
Melissa R. Manley, 34, Pleasant Hill, wearing a seat belt, southbound in a 2004 Ford, lost control of her vehicle on the ice covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a guard rail. The vehicle then returned to the roadway, striking a second guard rail and came to a rest.

Melissa R. Manley experienced minor injuries and elected to seek her own treatment. Her vehicle had moderate damage and was driven from the scene. She had drivers insurance through State Farm.

Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper R.J. Hastings investigated the accident.

Rollover Accident South of Archie

The Adrian Fire Department along with Missouri State Highway Patrol and Bates County EMS is in route to a rollover accident on I-49 in the North bound lane 1 mile South of Archie. The reports are a red SUV rolled over on its side. Unknown at this time of injuries. Bates County Live will update this when and if more information becomes available. The roads are slick please use caution when traveling. If you don't have to travel please don't.

Appleton City Woman Escapes Injury In Rollover Accident

Yesterday around 6:15pm The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with The Bates County Sheriff's Department responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident on 52 East Highway at N Highway. The accident occurred when the 2009 Ford driven by 40 year old Michelle K. Baker of Appleton City was traveling East bound on Missouri 52 started to slide on the ice covered roadway, overturned coming to rest on its side. The driver received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. She was later taken to Ellette Memorial Hospital in Appleton City by her husband for treatment. The vehicle was secured on the roadside and only had minor damages.
