The Bates County Area is under a Winter Weather Watch effective Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. The potential for significant snow that may impact travel in the area. Please be prepared and ready for this storm.

Weather Update: Major Winter Storm On Tuesday

Well, you asked for it, so here's our first look at potential snowfall totals for Tuesday and Tuesday night. There are still quite a few things that can change with the track of this system and where those "highest" snow totals fall, so don't get too locked into the number in your area. Even if your totals are on the lower end, winds speeds and wind chills Tuesday night will make for pretty dangerous conditions.

Due to the potential for severe winter weather conditions, a winter storm WATCH is in effect for Tuesday and Tuesday night. You'll still have good weather on Monday, so if you're looking to prepare, time to do it soon.

1 Vehicle Accident North East Of Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Department is in route to a Gray Chevrolet Trailblazer that has lost control and is teetering off a bridge Northeast of Amsterdam. The location of this is off of Y Highway and County Road 11002. Bates County Live is working to find more details about this and will update when more information becomes available.

Weather Update Winter Storm On Its Way Tuesday

The next winter storm appears to be shaping up to affect the region Tuesday, with a widespread snow accumulations expected. Bitterly cold conditions will then prevail through Wednesday and Thursday with yet another winter storm in the offing for Friday and Saturday. Old man winter isn't done with us yet.
