Early Morning Bates County Accident Injures 2 People
Around 5:30am this morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County EMS responded to a 1 vehicle accident on Northbound I-49 at mile marker 141.2. The accident occurred when the 2003 Chevrolet Impala driven by 44 year old Suleiman A. Hussein of Kansas City, Missouri was traveling Northbound on I-49 ran off the roadway and into the median, returning back to the roadway crossing into the Southbound Lanes of I-49 and overturned on its side.
Two passengers in the vehicle 30 year old Johara M. Mohammud and Abdi Hassan 29 years old both of Kansas City, Missouri were taken by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Due to road conditions the vehicle was left at the scene.

Four People Injured In Henry County Accident
Four persons were injured in a one-vehicle accident on March 1 in Henry County on Highway 52 east of County Road NE 501 in Rural Henry County.
Vincent Abell, 32, Calhoun Missouri, wearing a seat belt, eastbound in a 2007 Ford F-250, traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned several times.
Vincent Abell experienced moderate injuries. His vehicle had moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Golden Valley Wrecker.
Three passengers were injured. Jordan Abell, 8, Calhoun, wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries. Zachariah Abell, 10, Calhoun, wearing a seat belt, experienced minor injuries. Haley Avell, 12, Calhoun, wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries. Those injured were transported to Golden Valley Hospital.
2 People Ejected From Vehicle in rollover accident On I-49
The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County EMS and The Bates County Sheriff's Office responded to a 1 vehicle accident last night around 7:30pm in the Southbound lanes of I-49 and Mile Marker 126. The accident occurred when the 2002 Pontiac driven by Dominic R. Martello 30, Of Joplin Missouri lost control and veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Martello and a passenger in the vehicle Gary L. Busby 22, of Joplin Missouri were both ejected from the vehicle. Both were taken to Bates County Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and transfers are pending to Research Main Hospital in Kansas City,Missouri. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Tow of Butler, Missouri.
1 Vehicle Rollover Accident On I-49
Around 8:25pm last night The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with The Bates County Sheriff's Office and Bates County EMS all responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident in The Northbound lanes of I-49 around mile marker 123.8.
The accident occurred when the 2006 Ford driven by Jeffery Culey 45, of Independence, Missouri was traveling NB on I-49 began to slide on the ice covered roadway and struck a gaurd rail overturned and came to rest in the median. The driver was taken by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
