VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT TO STEP FORWARD AND BE VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS
The Sac Osage Fire Protection District (SOFPD) in St. Clair County is seeking individuals to serve as volunteer Firefighters in the community. Fire Chief Travis Foley explained there are currently 15 Firefighters on the roster.
“Not all of those on the roster can always respond to calls for service,” he said. ...
Foley stated the number of volunteers on the department has recently dropped due to people moving out of the area faster than new people joining the fire department.
“We need all the help we can get,” he said. “If you or someone you know lives in the district and wants to help please contact me.”
Volunteers from the SOFPD responded to 80 calls for service in 2013.
For more information on being a volunteer, contact Foley, 417-309-3460, or email sofpdjfarrell@gmail.com.
