MoDot Road Work In Vernon and Bates County

Missouri Transportation Department officials say motorists in Bates and Vernon Counties should be alert for lane closings today on I-49 and U.S. 54.

MoDot employees were to be involved in some pavement sealing on an East-bound lane of U.S. 54 -- at state highway 43 West of Nevada -- today and that East-bound lane will be closed. Lane closings also are planned on U.S. 54 at Little Dry Wood Creek -- West of Nevada -- and in the South-bound lanes of I-49 at the Little Osage River -- South of Rich Hill -- for bridge work.

In Bates County, lane closings also were planned on North-bound I-49 at the railroad bridge North of Butler and at Muddy Creek, South of Rich Hill for bridge work. One-lane traffic also was planned on route B at Willow Creek -- East of Rich Hill -- today for bridge work
