Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Western Linn County Kansas

Western Linn County Kansas has been placed into a Severe Thunderstorm WARNING by the NWS. The Warning is in effect until 7:45 pm. 60 MPH winds and quarter size hail expected. Storm has had visible rotation but no tornado yet.

Weather Update: Thunderstorms Developing

Storms have initiated in southeastern KS, along the warm front and are lifting to the northeast. The most likely areas for severe storms in the next few hours will remain well south of Kansas City and mainly be focused in area along and south of a Mound City, KS to Clinton, MO line.

Funeral services for John Gwin will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Dr. Terry Davis officiating.  Visitation will be prior to services from 10-11 a.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel.  Burial in West Point Cemetery, Amsterdam, Missouri.  Contributions to Butler First Baptist Church.



John H. Gwin, age 85 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler.  He was born May 9, 1928 to John Wesley and Alvena Henrietta Maddy Gwin in Amsterdam, Missouri.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann Gwin of Butler, Missouri; two daughters, Jeanene French and husband Terry of Cook, Nebraska and Eileen Shipps and husband Ron of Gower, Missouri; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Vena Reynolds

Butler High School Track Results from Monday at Adrian‏

On Monday the Butler Bears participated in the Archie HS Invitational Track Meet. The Boys fought through the wind and finished with a 5th finish out of 15 teams! The top 8 place finishers earned points towards that 5th place finish!
