Weather Update: Warmer... Couple Rounds Of Storms


Well, you can't say our weather has been boring lately. But I guess it depends on your perspective. Anyway, don't have any fancy graphics to share with you like the great ones we posted yesterday showing we could have had 10 feet of snow had it been February

We'll be able to dry out some today so you can go out and mow the forest that has grown from the 1-3 inches of rainfall that many received. Or, if your yard is like mine you can spend your day picking the gazillion mushrooms that have popped up. On second thought think I'll pass, there's got to be something better to do. What outdoor plans do you have for today?

Road work in Cass County

Bridge Painting Work Will Close One Lane of Northbound I-49

CASS COUNTY – Work will close the outside lane of northbound I-49 from north of Route 291 to just south of Route J from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday through 9 p.m. Friday, June 13 for bridge painting. All work is weather dependent.

Missing Dogs


Two missing dogs; If you know where these dogs are please call 
Stephanie at 8168727229 or Jed at 8168380232. 
The bloodhound is all red with some white on his chest and the 
heeler is mostly black with white on her chest. 
They are both wearing red collars, the bloodhounds has a silver tag 
from Harrisonville animal clinic the bloodhound is also microchipped.
The bloodhound is a neutered male, his name is Hank and the mix
is a spayed female her name is Lucy.

Defendent Back In Cass County to face murder charges

Tyler Smallwood
Tyler J. Smallwood who is being charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to the June 4 shooting of Forrest Fuller that apparently occurred over an argument in rural Cass County. 

Mr. Smallwood has waived extradition from Kansas and is now in custody at the Cass County Jail.  He arrived in the jail on Monday evening.

UPDATE: Shoplifting Call Leads To Drug Arrest In Butler

Chafferty Parker charged with Felony Possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in the Bates County Jail on 10,000$ bond.
Charles Moffett charged with Felony Possession of a controlled
Substance. He is currently being held on a 20,000$ bond.
 


 
 
On Monday 6/9/14 The Butler Police Department responded to 
the Walmart store on  a report of a shoplifter. When officers arrived to
the scene they made contact with Charles Moffett. Mr. Moffett was 
placed under arrest and during a search of his person the officers
found drugs on him and he was placed under arrest.
 
The officers went out to the suspect vehicle in the parking lot where
2 people was found passed out in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle
lead to the find of more drugs.
 
Chafferty Parker was placed under arrested along with
Charles Moffett both charged with Possession 
 of a Controlled Substance and placed in the Bates County Jail.    
 
   

Obituary - Ronald Lee Hutchins

Ronald Lee Hutchins, 49, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Monday, June 9, 2014. A memorial visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. (A complete obituary will be posted when available).
