St.Clair County Sheriffs Office: Arrest made in theft/stealing case in Collins
On
Saturday, June 14, William Dane, 44, Flemington, was arrested on a St.
Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of
theft/stealing-value is $500 or more but less than $25,000. The charge
stems from an investigation that started on June 13 when a St. Clair
County deputy was on routine patrol near Collins. The deputy observed a
stranded motorist pulled in a driveway alongside Highway 54, across the
road from Mike's Wrecker Service. The deputy stopped to assist and two
people were identified. The registration information from the vehicle
was obtained and the deputy cleared the scene and continued patrolling. A
follow up investigation by the deputy revealed evidence a stealing had
occurred.
The investigation led to the recovery
of several radiators and batteries at Dane’s residence in Polk County.
Mike Garlett Sr. from Mike’s Wrecker Service was contacted and
identified the property. The value of the items was estimated at $5,705.
On June 13, an arrest warrant was also
issued for Brandon Burton, 30, Weaubleau, for his alleged involvement in
the case. Burton is charged with a class C felony of theft/stealing. He
has not been arrested at this time.
Female Black Lab Found in Butler
Found: A female black lab at the Conoco Station in Butler at approximately 1:45 p.m. today. She is very well mannered and relatively well-cared for.
She knows commands and the store workers said she had been there about
two-hours. She did not have a collar or tags. We have turned her over
to the Butler PD, who have taken her to Dr. Sage for kenneling.
