Deputy not injured in accident



According to Sheriff J. Kent Oberkrom, on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 just after 7:00 a.m. Henry County Deputy Brandon Steward was operating a patrol vehicle westbound on Hwy 52 just east of Hwy OO when he traveled off the roadway and struck a highway sign.  Deputy Steward was not injured and the accident is being investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 6/18/14


  • On 6/18/14 around 2:30am the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a vehicle stop and arrested Tierra W. Quinn 26 years old of Kansas City, Missouri was arrested on 1.) Possession of up to 35 grams Marijuana 2.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia 3.) Driving while suspended 4.) Two misdemeanor Grandview warrants. She was booked into the Bates County Jail and her status is listed as bond able. 

  • On 6/18/14 around 2:46am The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 35 year old Dimarco S. Toles of Kansas City, Missouri. He was arrested on 1.) Possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana 2.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and later released.

UPDATE: Police Chase Ends In Accident



Bates County Live just spoke with Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson regarding the police chase this evening. The chase ended just outside of Pleasanton, Kansas after a minor accident. Bates County Live will have more information about this when the information is available.

Breaking News: Police Chase In Bates County


The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County Sheriffs Deputies were attempting to stop a motorcycle with 2 occupants on it. The location of this was Southbound I-49 when the motorcycle took off from them this evening around 10:25pm

The chase is still going Southwest of Worland, Missouri at this time they are on state line road about to cross into Kansas. Bates County Live will update this when more information is available.




UPDATE: Adrian Teen Injured in 1 vehicle rollover accident East of Adrian

The scene of a crash that left Haley D. Briggs of Adrian with
moderate injuries. The accident happened east of Adrian on
county road 1503
Around 4:30 pm this afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Adrian Fire Department and Bates County EMS responded to a 1 vehicle rollover accident East of Adrian on 18 Highway and County Road 1503.

The accident occurred when the 1999 Saturn SC driven by 16 year old Haley D. Briggs of Adrian, Missouri was traveling Northbound on County Road 1503. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the roadway striking a fence and over turning 3 times.

Briggs was ejected from the vehicle and sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Bates County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was totaled and secured in the field by the family.

Obituary - Frances Darlene Dutton



Funeral services for Darlene Dutton will be 12 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to services from 11-12 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Radford Cemetery, Spruce, Missouri. 

Frances Darlene Dutton, age 67 of Boliver, Missouri died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Boliver, Missouri. She was born March 13, 1947 to Eugene and Ruby Elizabeth Luster Smith in Divernon, Illinois. 

Darlene is survived by three sons, Ray Vasquez of Brighton, Missouri, Harvey Vasquez of Boliver, Missouri and Roberto Vasquez and wife Joan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Suzette Daley and husband Shawn of Holiday, Florida and Christina Viles and husband Larry of Brighton, Missouri; and a sister, Wanda Jollife of Butler, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Vasquez in 1985 and a granddaughter Jessica Vasquez.
