Bates County Sheriff needs your help
All right Bates County I need your help again. I am writing an article for submission to a book that the Missouri Sheriff's Association is publishing about the history of Sheriff's across the state. I have been doing the research and can not find anything that shows who the Sheriff's were from 1843 to 1852. If you have any information that you would share please do so. I am also looking for articles about the Sheriff's office since 1841. Thanks Bates County for your help

Motive Found Behind Lockwood, Missouri Murder
![]() |
| Bobby Bourne, Jr. |
Missouri prosecutors believe a Lockwood man killed a Golden City girl to get back at her father for having a fling with his wife while he was in jail. 35-year-old Bobby Bourne, Jr. is charged with first-degree murder, child kidnapping and statutory rape for the death of Audrianna Horton last August.
Audrianna disappeared from a Golden City park and her body was found a few days later in Dade County. The revenge motive surfaced during a hearing on a change-of-venue Thursday in Barton County circuit court. Judge James Journey approved the change-of-venue agreement between the prosecution and the defense in which jurors will be chosen in Buchanan County, Missouri and brought to Lamar for a two- or three-day trial starting September 21, 2015.
